Spin & Go max Tournament is a No Limit Hold'em format where the size of the field and the prize on offer for the winner are both decided away from the felt, before a single card is dealt.
Instead of a fixed table size, every tournament begins with a random draw that sets the number of seats. You could be sitting down against two opponents or against seven, and the draw decides which.
You'll find it in your game lobby under the Spin & Go tab and Max Hold'em, or under the Spin & Go Max tab if you're playing on mobile. Think of it as the regular Spin & Go format after it grew a few extra chairs.
Bets, Payouts & Rules
The format runs in four clear stages, and each one is settled either before or after the poker rather than during it.
Step 1: Random player draw
- The field size is not known at the point of registration.
- A random draw held before the tournament starts sets the number of players, anywhere from three to eight.
- The number drawn directly shapes the size of the prize pool.
- The probability of each field size varies depending on the entry level you choose.
Step 2: Triple prize spin
- Before play starts, three spinners reveal three possible prizes for the eventual winner.
- Once play ends, those three prizes are shuffled and hidden.
- If more than one player is due to be paid, the tournament lobby will say so.
- Prizes for second place and below are fixed after the pre-game spins and are not affected by the first-place finisher's later selection.
- If the top prize lands on one of the pre-game spinners, it is set in place and the winner does not choose from the three hidden options.
Step 3: Let's play
With the field size and prizes settled, the poker begins. Every Spin & Go max Tournament is No Limit Hold'em and plays down to a single winner. Players who finish in a paid position without taking first place are paid according to the payout tables.
Step 4: Pick your prize
- The prizes drawn before play reappear, then are shuffled and hidden.
- The winner has 45 seconds to choose one of the three hidden prizes.
- If no selection is made in time, one is chosen at random on the winner's behalf.
There is a separate payout table for each combination of entry level and field size, and the Payouts page sets out how prizes are awarded.
Features & Bonus Rounds
Random player draw
The draw gives each tournament its own shape. Three players, eight players, or somewhere in between: the number is settled by a random draw before the tournament starts, and that figure feeds into the prize pool.
Triple prize spin
The three spinners are the defining mechanic. They reveal the three possible prizes for first place before any cards are dealt, and those same three are shuffled and hidden once the tournament reaches its conclusion.
Pick your prize
The winner chooses one of the three hidden prizes, with 45 seconds to make the call. Leave it longer than that and the choice is made at random instead.
Cash Out
When higher prizes are drawn, as set out in the payout tables, a Cash Out option becomes available to the winner. Rather than picking one of the three hidden prizes, the winner may take the Cash Out amount offered instead. That amount is based on the average value of all three prizes, reduced by a margin designed to make the decision a genuine one.
Taste & Feel
There's a particular rhythm to this format. The spinners do their thing, the field size appears, and then it's simply poker, played out until one name is left standing.
The eight-handed draws feel like a proper crowd, while the three-handed ones are all elbows and awkward silences. The hidden prize pick at the end gives the whole thing a neat bookend.
If you fancy a look, the tables are there whenever you are.
