The Sunday Majors are the headline tournaments that fill the Sunday timetable, each one carrying its own name, its own format and its own title for the eventual winner. Together they run from the early slot right through to the late finale.
The full line-up includes:
- Sunday Kickoff: the first major tournament on the Sunday schedule.
- Sunday Eliminator: a Progressive KO tournament.
- Sunday Warm-Up: one of the largest tournaments in online poker.
- Red Lotus: a Mystery Bounty tournament.
- Sunday Storm: a Progressive KO event suited to players of all levels.
- Sunday Million: the most prestigious event on the schedule, and one of the most iconic online poker tournaments anywhere.
- Sunday Cooldown: a fast-paced Mystery Bounty tournament in the later part of the day.
- Sunday Supersonic: a hyper-turbo structure that plays out in a matter of hours.
Bets, Payouts & Rules
Each Sunday Major is a scheduled tournament with a published start time, and the formats across the day differ in how prizes are structured.
- Progressive KO: a bounty is awarded for eliminating an opponent, alongside the guaranteed prizes for those who outlast the field. The Sunday Eliminator and Sunday Storm both use this format.
- Mystery Bounty: once players reach the money, every elimination awards a bounty whose value is not revealed in advance. Red Lotus and Sunday Cooldown run this way.
- Hyper-turbo: the Sunday Supersonic uses this structure, so the event reaches its conclusion in a matter of hours.
- The Sunday Warm-Up offers a share of a large guaranteed prize pool each week, while the Sunday Million carries one of the most recognised titles in online poker.
Start times, entry details and guaranteed prize pool information for every event are listed in the Tournaments tab.
Features & Bonus Rounds
Satellites
Seats in the Sunday Majors can also be won through satellite tournaments, with hundreds of them running ahead of each Sunday Million. On desktop, satellites are found using the Satellite filter, while on mobile they sit under Satellites within the Tournaments section.
Mystery Bounty
The defining element here is the unknown. Bounties only come into play once the money places are reached, and the value attached to each elimination stays a surprise until it is awarded.
Progressive KO
Two objectives sit side by side: outlasting the field, and collecting bounties for eliminating opponents along the way. The Sunday Storm is described as suiting players of all levels, which helps explain the mixed field it attracts.
Sunday Cooldown
The name promises a gentle wind-down at the end of the day. The fast-paced structure has rather different plans.
Taste & Feel
Sunday is the biggest day of the week on the tournament calendar, and the lobby has a particular texture to it: thousands of players filtering into the same events, and a schedule that rolls from the Sunday Kickoff to the Sunday Supersonic like a very long, very stubborn relay race.
The Sunday Million sits at the heart of it as the headline act, while the surrounding majors each bring their own rhythm: some patient, some brisk, one of them positively breathless.
